At Remedium Recovery, we are passionate about helping our patients overcome addiction, and support them through their recovery. We understand that taking the first steps towards recovery and towards getting life back is difficult and we applaud them for it.

If you or someone you know is ready to detox from drugs or alcohol, Remedium's medication-assisted detox program may be the most comfortable option.

Enrollment in an drug detoxification program is an very important first step to beginning your recovery. Drug detox is a time for your body to rid itself of any drugs or alcohol. Detox allows the body to clear out remaining substances, while adjusting to life without. During this recovery period, patients will experience both psychological and physical restorations to their body, as well as potentially undesirable withdrawal effects.

Our doctors, however, have years of experience helping patients free themselves, and will use a deliberate combination of medication and care to quell withdrawal symptoms, while weaning the body safely off of dangerous substances.

Intake & Evaluation

At Remedium we know an accurate evaluation and understanding of a patient's needs is one of the most important factors of a successful detox program. Evaluation is the first step in the drug detoxification process. Each person's case, and addiction are unique. In your first appointment, our doctors will take you through the intake process in which they will perform a full evaluation including:

  • Medical Evaluation
  • Psychological Assessment
  • Physical Exam

Body chemistry, the length of time a person has been using substances, and the type and amount of opiates taken all play a part in addiction. For that reason, to accurately diagnose and treat an opiate addiction, we medically assess our patients to properly plan and execute our detoxification program.

Suboxone Detox Treatment

We at Remedium understand the immense task it is to away from opioid addiction. Unfortunately, “quitting cold turkey” often has a poor success rate. This is where medication-assisted detox treatment options, like Suboxone, benefit our patients in fostering recovery while reducing the side effects of withdrawal and cravings which possibly may lead to relapse.

Medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction and dependence is not the same as substituting one addictive drug for another, but rather, very similar to using medication to treat other chronic illnesses such as heart disease, asthma or diabetes.

What is Suboxone?

Suboxone is a FDA approved medicine used to treat people who are addicted to prescription pain medications such as Fentanyl, Codeine, and Morphine and illegal drugs like heroin and opium. It contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which help with withdrawal symptoms. At Remedium Recovery, we prescribe Suboxone to our patients as a part of our complete treatment plan.

Detoxification, itself, is the process of removing drugs and medically stabilizing the body. This phase varies for each patient, can be one of the most difficult. To combat drug cravings and withdrawal symptoms, our doctors and staff carefully monitor each person during the detox process.

Everyone responds to the Suboxone treatment differently, but our experienced doctors will tailor your recovery and treatment process to suit your specific needs. Once the proper dose of Suboxone is determined to meet your needs, you receive many benefits including:

  • More eEergy
  • Less Irritability, Anxiety, and Agitation
  • Easier to Sleep
  • Disappearance of Hot and Cold Sweats
  • Free of Muscle Aches and Pains
  • Less Abdominal Cramping, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea

After a healthy and maintainable level of recovery has been reached, one of our doctors will then discuss options regarding whether you would like to continue with the medication, or other options for a medically supervised withdrawal.

What to Expect During Detoxification

During the detoxification process, Remedium Recovery takes every possible opportunity to foster a successful recovery for our patients. During this phase, you can expect:

Medically Supervised Withdrawal

Some patients may choose to not continue with the use of Suboxone after they have gone through detox. Patients who choose this path will likely find it challenging to stop the use of the medication, as it is an opioid agonist. Medically supervised withdrawal will be the final step in process for some patients. Throughout this part of the treatment, your doctor will ween you off of Suboxone by gradually reducing your dose over time to help minimize withdrawal symptoms or cravings.

During the medically supervised withdrawal, relapse can present a significant risk, that’s why our doctors take great care to detoxify patients with a slow and gradual program completely formed based on your individual needs.
